I have worked within the Health and Social Care sector since Qualifying as a Registered Nurse in 1981. My career has taken me through the pathway of older people’s care as a ward sister in the Acute NHS to being a University Lecturer with the University of Brighton, developing and teaching the degree in Gerontology programme. In the later years of my NHS career, I worked as Deputy Chief Nurse in an Acute Hospital Trust and Professional Head of Nursing within an NHS Mental Health Trust. On leaving the NHS, I came to the independent sector and have been a CQC Registered Manager for the past 14 years. Our residential care is fully tailored around the needs of the individual so you only get the care you need to keep you as independent as possible.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and going on holidays.
